Pombly · About

Why a business — not a charity

Pombly was built on a simple conviction: doing good and running a real business are not opposites. Most of what you pay to send a card goes to the person who actually posts it — and the further from wealth their country is, the larger their share of the price.

We deliberately wrapped it in a real, paying service rather than an appeal for donations. Senders get something they genuinely want: real mail, from anywhere, that lands on a fridge and stays there for years. Contributors get regular income for real work, paid with dignity rather than as a handout. Because every order is a transaction, not a donation, the model keeps itself honest — it only grows if people keep coming back.

Our mascot: every card handled like it's marked fragile.

The founding team

Marty Mayo

Co-founder. Of the Emerald Isle, Marty lived a charmed life for more years than we can count before turning his love of real mail into Pombly.

Mandy Luk

Co-founder. Mandy did what every traveller should do young: she took a job at an airport — and never really left the departures hall in spirit.
